AI room inspection for Knowcross by Unifocus
Read the photos on your Unifocus inspections, task sheets and Glitch records, and get a condition finding for the rooms your inspection triggers were never going to sample.
How Unifocus inspection triggers workOverview
Unifocus inspects deliberately, not universally. The housekeeping module routes rooms for inspection by rule, on mobile checklists with scoring and photos, and the rules are good ones: every fifth room per attendant, checkouts over stayovers, new starters, an automatic reinspection after a failure. Sampling is the right answer when a supervisor's hours are the constraint, and it still leaves most of the day's rooms reaching a guest on the attendant's word alone. RapidEye reads the Unifocus room list and statuses and the photos your team attaches, and returns a condition finding for every room, including the ones no rule selected.
How it works with Knowcross by Unifocus
Unifocus already gathers photos across several modules, each with a different reason for existing. The integration treats them as one record of the room.
- Inspection checklists. Where a supervisor has inspected, RapidEye reads the same room and reports what sits outside the checklist. A weighted score of 96 tells you the listed items passed, not that the room is right.
- Task sheets closed without an inspection. The tap-to-complete timestamp is all most rooms leave behind. RapidEye reads the room photos and returns what a supervisor would have found: a bed made short, a bathroom missed, a bulb out, a stain that was not there last week.
- Glitch records. Unifocus lets any team member log an issue with guest name, room number and service category, with photos attached. RapidEye ties those images to the room and the stay, so a complaint has the room's own history next to it rather than one photo and a category.
- Maintenance and preventative work. Images, comments and GPS location are captured on maintenance tasks. RapidEye keeps the before and the after of a repair, which is what an owner or an asset manager actually asks for later.
- Linen and room inventory. Unifocus tracks soiled, damaged and missing linens and forecasts what each attendant needs. RapidEye reads whether the stained set actually left the room and whether the amenity set is complete when the guest walks in.
- Across the portfolio. Findings carry the property, so a corporate team sees which houses drift from the brand standard between QA visits.
A finding names the property, the room, the spot, the type of problem, how serious it looks, the images it is drawn from, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard, and in a Slack channel or an inbox for the operations office if you want one. What happens next in Unifocus is your call. If what your team produces is not a photo on a checklist, a video walkthrough, a scan, an inspection format of your own, that is something we set up with you.
How to connect Knowcross by Unifocus to RapidEye
- Your Unifocus property and checklists. The rooms you clean on the task sheets, and the inspection checklists you already run by brand, room type or department. None of them need to change.
- Where the room photos come from. If your supervisors attach photos to inspection items and your team photographs issues on Glitch and maintenance records, RapidEye reads those. For rooms your triggers never sample, a RapidEye capture link opens on any phone with no app to install: a fixed set of angles per room, lights on, taken when the attendant closes the task.
- Add RapidEye in User Administration. Administration, then User Administration, then Add User on the Manage Users view. The modal has the details.
Which rooms a Unifocus rule sends to inspection
Checked against Unifocus product and help documentation, September 2026.
Unifocus is a workforce management platform that absorbed the Knowcross operations suite, and its housekeeping pages say so plainly: the housekeeping module was formerly part of the Knowcross platform, and KNOW Service, KNOW Housekeeping, KNOW Glitch, KNOW Inspection, KNOW Maintenance and KNOW Tenant now sit inside the Unifocus suite. According to Unifocus documentation (unifocus.com), rooms are routed for inspection after cleaning either manually or by rule, and these are the rules it publishes.
Read as a set, the rules are a sound allocation of scarce supervisor hours, and each one has the same shadow: a room the rule was never going to select. That shadow is where guest damage, slow wear and quietly missing items live, because nothing in the workflow ever looks at those rooms twice. RapidEye reads the shadow, and the triggers keep doing what they do best.
Can you attach photos to a Unifocus inspection?
Yes, and more thoroughly than most of the category. Unifocus describes digital inspection forms with scoring and photos, checklists configurable with ratings, inputs, selections and weighted scoring, and optional photo documentation alongside notes and flag reasons, with photo evidence attached to a failed item and an automatic notification for rework. Glitch takes photos, documents and service notes on any logged incident. The maintenance side captures images, comments and GPS location. Multiple team members can contribute to the same inspection, useful on large areas and at shift handover, and role-based access control decides who sees what. The gap is not capture, it is comparison: a photo is filed against the item that failed, and nothing in the platform holds this room's photo up against the same room a month ago. That is the work RapidEye does with the same images.
What Unifocus gives the integration that a PMS cannot
Attribution and reach. The platform is mobile-first with support for over 180 languages, has an offline mode for areas with poor Wi-Fi, assigns rooms by priority, proximity, floor layout and attendant productivity, and records tap-to-complete timestamps with supervisor alerts for delays, refusals and cleaning issues. So a finding is not a floating photo of a dirty room. It is a room, an attendant, a duration, a shift and a property, which is what turns a finding into coaching, and coaching into fewer findings.
Knowcross by Unifocus integration FAQ
Does RapidEye integrate with Knowcross by Unifocus?
Yes. RapidEye reads your Unifocus room list and statuses and the photos your team attaches to inspections, task sheets and Glitch records, then returns a condition finding per room with the images behind it. Your checklists, triggers, task sheets, schedules and inventory records in Unifocus are left as they are.
Does Unifocus inspect every room?
No, by design. Unifocus documents inspection triggers such as every fifth room per attendant, service type, new or inexperienced attendants, an automatic reinspection after a failure, and rooms flagged by guest complaints or repeat maintenance. Its own FAQ adds that rooms cleaned by top-performing attendants can be set to skip inspection entirely. That is sound use of a supervisor's hours, and it still means most rooms reach the guest with no second look. RapidEye reads those rooms.
Can you attach photos to a Unifocus inspection?
Yes. Unifocus describes digital inspection forms with scoring and photos, optional photo documentation alongside notes and flag reasons, and photo evidence attached to a failed item. Glitch records take photos, documents and service notes on any logged incident, and the maintenance side captures images, comments and GPS location. Photo capture is well covered. What Unifocus does not do is compare this week's photo of a room against the same room last month, which is the job RapidEye takes on.
Will RapidEye change tasks, checklists or schedules in Unifocus?
No. Unifocus stays in charge of the work, the checklists and the labour plan. RapidEye reads and reports. Your supervisor decides whether a room is re-cleaned, whether a Glitch record or a work order is raised, and who is coached.
Our team works in several languages. Does that matter?
Not for RapidEye. Unifocus is mobile-first with support for over 180 languages, so your attendants keep working in the language they already use. A photo needs no translation, and findings come back in the language your managers read.
We inspect with video walkthroughs rather than a checklist. Does that work?
Yes. RapidEye reads whatever documentation your team produces, including video walkthroughs and 3D scans, and scores it against the standard you care about. If your format is your own rather than a Unifocus checklist, tell us how it is structured and we set it up with you.
