AI room inspection for ALICE by Actabl
Read the photos your team takes on ALICE inspections and tickets, and get a condition finding for every room on the board, not only the ones a supervisor had time to inspect.
How an ALICE inspection worksOverview
An ALICE housekeeping inspection is a supervisor's opinion, captured well, on the rooms a supervisor reached. The checklist scores Pass or Fail per item, comments explain the failures, photos can be taken of issues, and the room moves to Inspected with a calculated score behind it. What it is not is coverage: the rooms nobody inspected carry no evidence at all, and the ones that were inspected hold photos only of what already failed. RapidEye reads the ALICE room list and statuses along with the photos your team takes, and returns a finding per room, with the images behind it, for every room on the board.
How it works with ALICE by Actabl
ALICE already structures the housekeeping day into boards, statuses and tickets, so the checks attach to the objects your team is already touching.
- Rooms marked Clean. This is the volume, and the reason to bother. The attendant has tapped CLEAN and moved on. RapidEye reads the room photos and returns what a supervisor would have caught: a bed made short, a streaked mirror, a bin left, a bulb out, hair in the tub.
- Rooms marked Inspected. Where a supervisor did run the checklist, RapidEye reads the same room and says whether anything sits outside the checklist. A Pass on twenty items says nothing about the twenty-first.
- Failed checklist items with photos. The photos your supervisors take on failures become a labelled history: which rooms fail on the same item, which attendants, which floor, week after week.
- Tickets that carry photos. Actabl describes documenting problems with photos on a request. RapidEye ties those images back to the room and the stay so a maintenance issue does not sit in a ticket with nothing before it to compare against.
- Extra room items and stocking. ALICE tracks items dispatched to a room in the Items section. RapidEye tells you whether the item is actually in the room, and whether the amenity set is complete when the guest walks in.
- Rushed rooms. The rooms rushed to the top of an attendant's list are the ones nobody is going to inspect. Those get read like the rest.
A finding names the property, the room, the spot in the room, what kind of problem it is, how serious it looks, the photos it is drawn from, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard, and in a Slack channel or an inbox for the housekeeping office if you want one. You decide what happens in ALICE afterwards. And if what your team produces is not a photo on a checklist, video walkthroughs, a 3D scan, an inspection format of your own, that is something we set up with you rather than a reason it will not work.
How to connect ALICE by Actabl to RapidEye
- Your ALICE account and boards. The rooms you clean need to be on the housekeeping boards, including the PM turndown board if you run one. Rooms you have excluded stay excluded.
- Where the room photos come from. If your supervisors already photograph failed items and your team photographs problems on tickets, RapidEye reads those. For the rooms that never generate an exception, a RapidEye capture link opens on any phone with no app to install: a fixed set of angles per room, lights on, taken before the attendant taps CLEAN.
- Add RapidEye as a user in ALICE Admin. Manage Users, name Rapid Eye, email support@rapideyeinspections.com. The modal has the details.
The four statuses an ALICE room passes through
Checked against Actabl's help centre and product pages, September 2026.
ALICE is Actabl's hotel operations platform, and its product pages put it at high-end, complex, multi-outlet hotels, where the housekeeping board, service delivery tickets, guest services and guest messaging sit in one place. According to Actabl's help centre documentation (actabl.com), the mobile app carries a room through a four-status cleaning workflow, and each status is worth reading for what evidence it leaves behind.
Read down that column and the shape of the problem is plain. The evidence in ALICE gets richer exactly as the number of rooms gets smaller, and it is richest at the status the fewest rooms ever reach. The integration inverts it: the reading happens at Clean, where the volume is, and the supervisor's time goes to the rooms a finding points at.
Can you attach photos in ALICE by Actabl?
Yes, in two places, and both are exception-shaped. The help centre's housekeeping walkthrough tells a supervisor to take photos of issues while marking checklist items Pass or Fail. On the service side, Actabl's product pages describe documenting problems with photos on a request so there is no confusion about it, plus a digital trail of which team member completed the request and when, and logbooks where a photo and item details are attached to a lost and found entry. What no page describes is a photo of a room in good condition, taken as a matter of routine. That is the asymmetry the integration closes: RapidEye needs the ordinary room to have been photographed too, because the clean room is the comparison that makes the next stay's damage obvious.
What ALICE gives the integration that a PMS cannot
Attribution. Actabl's pages describe role-based permissions that define user types and control access by job role, an unlimited user model, and a trail of who completed what. Paired with the cleaning timer that runs from START to CLEAN, a finding is not just a dirty room, it is a room, an attendant, a duration and a shift. That turns a photo into coaching, which is the difference between catching problems and stopping them.
ALICE by Actabl integration FAQ
Does RapidEye integrate with ALICE by Actabl?
Yes. RapidEye reads your ALICE room list and room statuses and the photos your team takes in each room, then returns a finding per room: damage, a missed clean, a missing item, or a maintenance issue, with the photos behind it. Your boards, tickets, inspection checklists and room statuses in ALICE are left exactly as they are.
Can you attach photos in ALICE by Actabl?
Yes, in two places. The ALICE help centre says a supervisor completing a housekeeping inspection marks each checklist item Pass or Fail, adds comments for failed items, and takes photos of issues if needed. Actabl's service delivery pages also describe documenting problems with photos on a request and attaching photos to logbook entries for lost and found. What none of those is, is a photo record of the room in good condition, which is why a photo in ALICE usually only exists once something has already gone wrong.
Does ALICE inspect every room?
No, and it does not claim to. Inspected is the fourth and last status a supervisor sets after completing a checklist on a room, so the number of rooms inspected is the number of rooms a supervisor had time to walk. Every other room goes to the guest on the strength of the attendant tapping CLEAN. RapidEye reads photos for all of them and tells you which ones need a human.
Will RapidEye change room statuses or tickets in ALICE?
No. ALICE stays the system of record for boards, assignments, tickets, checklists and statuses. RapidEye reads and reports. Your supervisor decides whether a room goes back to Dirty, whether a ticket gets raised, and who hears about it.
We run video walkthroughs instead of photos. Does that work with ALICE?
Yes. RapidEye reads whatever documentation your team already produces, including video walkthroughs and 3D scans, and scores it against the standard you care about. If your inspection format is your own rather than a checklist in ALICE, tell us how it is structured and we set it up with you.
Does this work across a management group on ALICE?
Yes. ALICE is sold into multi-outlet and multi-property groups, and the same standard applies across them in RapidEye. Findings carry the property and the room, so a corporate director sees which properties drift and which hold the line, without waiting for a QA visit.
