AI room inspection for Jonas Chorum

Overview

In Chorum, a photo lives on a maintenance request, never on the clean. The Housekeeping module tracks room status, assignments, out-of-order rooms, maintenance requests, housekeeper profiles and lost and found, and the mobile housekeeping form gives a room attendant status options, a checklist, notes and a timer. The one thing it does not collect is a picture of the finished room. RapidEye supplies that half: it reads the room list and stay dates from Chorum and the photos your housekeepers take, then returns a finding per room, tied to the stay that just ended.

How it works with Jonas Chorum

The Housekeeping module already sorts a room by what the front desk says about it, so the checks follow the same shape.

• Due out rooms. The departing guest's stay sits between the last set of clean photos and today's. A ring burnt into the desk, a cracked shower screen, a missing hairdryer comes back as a finding with both photos and the stay dates between them.
• Stayovers on a housekeeping plan. Chorum schedules a service clean by length of stay and repeats it every so many days. RapidEye reads the service photos and flags an untouched bathroom, an unchanged bed or a bin nobody emptied while the guest is still in house.
• Vacant rooms waiting on a cleaning due date. A room can sit vacant for days before its next scheduled clean. Dust, dead bulbs and a kettle borrowed for another room show up in the comparison to the last photos of that room.
• Out of order rooms. Chorum takes these out of bookable inventory for damage, infestation or plumbing. RapidEye keeps the photos from before the room came out and the photos after the repair, so the work has a dated visual record next to the request.
• The requests nobody filed. A maintenance request only exists if a person opens one. RapidEye reads what is in the photo whether or not anyone typed it, and names the room, the spot and how serious it is so your team can decide if it belongs in Chorum as a request or an out-of-order.

Each finding names the room, the spot inside it, the kind of problem, how serious it is, the before and after photos, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want it there, in a channel or inbox the housekeeping office already watches. Your team decides what happens in Chorum. If your property documents differently, with walkthrough video, 3D scans or an inspection format of your own, that is something we set up with you, not a reason the integration does not fit.

How to connect Jonas Chorum to RapidEye

1. Rooms and housekeepers set up in Chorum. The rooms you clean carrying their housekeeping zone, and a housekeeper profile for each person cleaning them, since Chorum will not assign a room to anyone without one.
2. A photo source for the clean. Chorum holds images on maintenance requests, not on the clean, so RapidEye sends a capture link that opens on any phone with nothing to install: a fixed set of angles per room, lights on, taken before the room is moved to needs inspection or clean. A team that already shoots rooms in its own app changes nothing; RapidEye reads from it.
3. Add RapidEye as a user. Administration, then Security and Permissions, then Security Users. The Connect button has the details, including the name and email to enter.

Two forms in Chorum, and only one of them takes a photo

Jonas Chorum is a cloud PMS for independent hotels, management companies, chain hotels and extended stay, and its Housekeeping module is where the cleaning day lives. According to Jonas Chorum's help centre documentation (jonaschorum.com), the module splits into six menus, Room Status, Housekeeping Assignments, Out of Order Rooms, Maintenance Requests, Managing Housekeepers and Lost and Found, and everything on the floor happens through two of its forms. One of them accepts an image. The other, the one that decides whether a guest walks into a good room, does not.

That asymmetry is the whole story of condition in Chorum. The system captures a picture of the broken fridge because a person decided the fridge was worth a request, and captures nothing of the ninety rooms that were fine, or were said to be. Chorum's documentation is candid about how the status moves: as guests arrive and depart the PMS toggles a room to dirty automatically, and then a housekeeper or supervisor with the right permission changes it by hand to needs inspection or clean. A property can even rename the inspection status in Housekeeping Settings, and can turn on a Clean All Rooms button that flips the lot in one action.

Where the day is actually organised

Around those two forms sit the settings a head housekeeper tunes: housekeeping plans that schedule a service clean by length of stay and repeat every so many days from arrival, length of stay cleaning credits so a long stay is weighted heavier, housekeeping zones so auto-assign hands out a walkable route rather than scattered room numbers, and a maximum credit count per housekeeper profile. The Room Assignments menu then shows each room with its FD status, maintenance, due out, vacant or occupied, its HSK status, the length of the last stay and the next cleaning due date. It is a genuinely good picture of who is doing what and when. It is not a picture of the room.

Can Chorum tell you a room is actually ready?

It can tell you somebody said so. The room chart shows every room's housekeeping status and lets the front desk change it from a dropdown, the mobile app filters the day into ready to clean, due out, stayovers and all rooms, and the supervisor view can show one housekeeper's progress or everyone's at once. Every one of those is a record of a claim: a status a person set, a checklist a person ticked, a timer a person stopped. The photos that would settle it exist only for the issues that got reported. That is precisely the gap RapidEye reads, and it reads it from the photos your team was going to take anyway.
