Overview

IntouchCheck turns a walk into structured data, and the photos are the one part of it that stays unstructured. A completed check carries answers, a score, signatures and time stamps, any cases it opened, and the photos and comments the checker added along the way. The numbers roll into dashboards and trend lines the same night. The photos sit inside the record, one tap away and rarely opened, because a hotel group running opening checks, room-readiness checks, F and B logs and public-area rounds submits more of them in a week than anyone can page through. RapidEye reads all of those photos, ties each to its property and its space, and returns a finding for what is in the frame.

How it works with IntouchCheck

IntouchCheck is one app running several very different routines in a hotel, so the checks follow the routine rather than the form.

  • Room readiness. The check asks whether the bed is made to standard and the amenities are set. The photos show the room. RapidEye reads them for the things the questions were never going to ask: a mark on the headboard, a stained runner, a lamp that is out, a robe that is not there, a chip on the bath panel that has been growing for six weeks.
  • Public areas and amenities. Lobby, corridors, lifts, pool, gym, restrooms. These get walked on a schedule and photographed quickly. RapidEye compares each space to how it looked on the previous rounds and reports the drift, which is how a broken tile or a missing sign gets caught before a guest names it in a review.
  • Brand standard checks. A brand check is a scored form, and a score is a summary. RapidEye reads the photo evidence behind the score against the standard the brand set, and tells you where a photo and a passing answer do not agree.
  • Maintenance and safety rounds. Scheduled and ad hoc checks on plant, lighting and fire equipment come with photo proof. RapidEye keeps the photo from before a repair and the one after it, so the fix has a dated pair behind it.
  • Food and beverage areas. Temperature logging is already numeric and already handled. The photos of the prep line, the walk-in and the buffet are not, and those are what RapidEye reads: a shelf out of order, a cover left off, a surface that does not look like the surface in your own good example.

Each finding names the property, the space, the type of problem, how serious it looks, the earlier and current photos, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want, a Slack channel or an inbox for the ops team. You decide whether it becomes a case in IntouchCheck. These are examples, not the edge of the product: RapidEye reads whatever a team already documents, video walkthroughs and 3D scans included, and reports against whatever standard you hold your properties to, so a routine that is not listed here is a conversation, not a no.

  1. An IntouchCheck account and the locations in scope. IntouchCheck is organised around locations, and location restrictions already control who sees which ones. Pick the properties to start with; the rest stay out until you say otherwise.
  2. The photo questions on the forms you already run. IntouchCheck supports photos and comments on a check, so in most cases nothing changes and RapidEye reads what is already there, including the history in your completed checks. If a form has no photo question yet, you can add one in the drag and drop builder, or RapidEye can supply a capture link that opens on any phone with no app to install, a fixed set of angles per space, taken while the person is still in the room.
  3. Add RapidEye as a user. Tell us the account and the locations, and we set it up with you. Your teams keep the same app, the same forms and the same routine.

What happens to a submitted IntouchCheck check

IntouchCheck is Intouch Insight's digital checklist and inspection product for multi-location brands, and its own summary of the loop is four steps: build the form in a drag and drop editor, use it in the field on any smart device including offline, analyse the results in dashboards, and monitor trends over time. According to Intouch Insight's product documentation (intouchinsight.com), a check can carry scored questions, skip logic, randomised question order, signatures and time stamps, annotations, record tags and photos with comments, and completed checks feed case management, which chases the follow-ups.

The interesting part for anyone who cares about condition is what gets a second pair of eyes. Intouch Insight is direct about this: most completed audits do not need approval, and sending every one for review creates work that hides the records that matter. So the platform routes on conditions, and samples the rest.

Intouch Insight's own words for that remaining pool are worth keeping: those records are not necessarily risk-free, they simply did not meet any of the configured approval conditions. Random spot checks exist precisely to close that gap, and they close it the way sampling always does, on a slice. That is a sound design for approvals, where a human has to sign something. It is a different problem from photographs, where the cost of looking at one more is close to nothing once something can look at all of them.

Does IntouchCheck let staff add photos to a check?

Yes, with annotation. Photos and comments sit in the feature list, and Intouch Insight explains why: staff often need to give context and visual evidence beyond a simple yes or no, and photos can be annotated to draw attention to a specific detail. On the hotel side it says teams document conditions with photos and notes so every room meets brand standards, and that maintenance, safety and incident checks are supported with photo proof. Offline mode means a check done in a back corridor uploads when the device reconnects.

So the evidence is captured, tagged to a location, time stamped and signed. What no page describes, and what no product of this type claims, is something reading the picture itself. The answers get scored, trended and routed; the photo waits for a person to open it. RapidEye is the part that opens all of them and reports back what they show.

RapidEye reads the photos taken during that check against what that room looks like when it is right: a stain on the runner, a chip in the bath panel, a missing robe, a bulb that is out in the lamp nobody photographs on purpose.
