How Maestro housekeeping worksOverview
Maestro's Housekeeping module is a scheduling and status system, not a record of what the room looks like. It assigns attendants by credits and stations, holds up to ten status codes per property, tracks the service each room is due, keeps a history log of who changed what, and hands anything broken over to the Work Order module. What it never captures is the room. RapidEye reads the room list and reservation dates from Maestro and the photos your attendants take, then returns a finding per room, so the status a supervisor sees on the Housekeeping screen has evidence sitting under it.
How it works with Maestro
Maestro already sorts the day by the service each room is due, so the checks follow the module's own vocabulary rather than inventing a workflow beside it.
- Checkout cleans. The stay that just ended sits between the last set of photos and today's. A burnt bench top, a cracked mirror or a missing lamp comes back as a finding with both photographs and the reservation dates between them, which is the difference between suspecting a guest and being able to show what happened.
- Stayover and sheet-change services. Maestro schedules a service level for each day of a stay, one AM and one PM if the property wants it. RapidEye reads the photo from that service and flags the bed that was straightened rather than made, the bin that was not emptied and the bathroom nobody entered, while the guest is still out.
- Rooms coming back on market. A room returns from Offmarket when the Night Audit hits the end date, whether or not the repair is finished. RapidEye keeps the photo from before the room went off and the photo from after, so the room that goes back into inventory is one somebody has looked at.
- Work Order follow-through. The module tracks the repair, its trade, its cost and its materials once it exists. RapidEye is what makes it exist: the loose handrail, the damp patch under the window, the tile nobody mentioned because it has been like that for months.
- Missing items and par stock. Maestro prints room supplies on the assignment sheet, then stops. RapidEye learns what a stocked room looks like at your property and says when this one is not: the second robe, the remote, the pod tray, the iron that walked to another floor.
- Attendants and stations over time. Findings carry the room, so patterns by station and by attendant surface without anyone building a report. That is a coaching tool first and an accountability one second.
Each finding names the room, the spot in it, the type of problem, how serious it is, the photographs on either side, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want, a Slack channel or an inbox split between housekeeping and engineering. Your supervisor decides whether the room goes back to dirty and whether a work order is raised. Photos are the common case, not the boundary: teams that shoot video walkthroughs, hold 3D scans, or want rooms checked against a brand standard of their own are set up that way, and that is a conversation rather than a limit.
How to connect Maestro PMS to RapidEye
- Your rooms, as they are built in Maestro. The buildings and room numbers in Room Number Maintenance are the list RapidEye checks against, so rooms that carry no housekeeping service stay out of it.
- A source for the room photos. If your attendants already photograph rooms in an app, RapidEye reads those. If not, RapidEye sends a capture link that opens on any phone with nothing to install: a fixed set of angles per room, lights on, taken before the Housekeeping Status is keyed.
- A Clerk Code for RapidEye. Maestro authorises people with Clerk Codes assigned to Clerk Group Codes, so we get one of our own at the read-only level your property uses for reporting. The modal has the path and the fields.
How Maestro housekeeping works today

Maestro is an all-in-one property management system for independent hotels, luxury resorts, conference centres and multi-property groups, sold as a browser version or a Windows version and deployed cloud hosted, self hosted, on premise, or as a hybrid of the two, with no licensing fee to move between them. It ships more than twenty modules on a single database, and two of them carry the daily life of a guest room: Housekeeping, and Work Order. According to Maestro's own eLearning documentation (maestropms.com), the Housekeeping module exists to assign staff to clean rooms, maintain and update a Housekeeping Status for each room, view the history of those changes, confirm the front desk's inventory of available and occupied rooms, and print reports on assignments, status discrepancies and Offmarket rooms.
That list is worth reading twice, because everything on it is about the status. Here is the record a supervisor is actually looking at on the Housekeeping screen.

The Txt field is the closest thing the module has to a note, and the guide is explicit that only messages entered that day, before the Night Audit is run, can be viewed. The Housekeeping Room History Log records each change of occupancy and housekeeping status, the time, and the clerk who made it, and Maestro purges that log at an interval the property sets, with thirty days recommended. So the module holds a durable memory of who said what, and a short one of anything anybody wanted to explain.
What a Housekeeping Status can and cannot prove
A property defines up to ten status codes of its own, each carrying two flags that do the real work: an Occupied flag, and a Clean flag whose N is what makes Maestro select the room for cleaning at all. A colour is attached to each so the front desk can read the screen at a glance, and a set of default codes flips rooms automatically as occupancy changes at check-in and checkout. Everything after that is a person keying a value, and Maestro offers five ways to do it.
Every one of those is a claim, and the last one is the sharpest illustration of the gap: a room can be reported clean from a telephone handset by someone standing in it, or by someone who is not. Maestro even has a report for the case where two claims disagree, the Discrepancy Report, which lists rooms where the occupancy status housekeeping reported contradicts the occupancy status in Maestro. That report exists because the system knows people key things that are not so. It compares a claim with another claim. RapidEye compares the claim with the room.
Does the Maestro Housekeeping App take photos?
Not for condition. Maestro's mobile and contact-free operations page lists Mobile Housekeeping among its staff tools, and Maestro's own account of the app describes room attendants and inspectors updating a room's status from a handheld, which then triggers an automatic message to the guest that the room is ready. Its stated function is exactly that: attendant in room, vacant or occupied, clean or dirty, or whatever status codes the property has configured, on iPhone, Android, Windows handhelds and tablets, on hotel-provided devices or a housekeeper's own. It is a faster way to key the status, which is a real improvement and a completely separate thing from recording the room. The twenty-seven pages of the Housekeeping quick reference guide describe no way to attach an image anywhere in the module.
Where the Work Order module picks up
Once a problem has been noticed, Maestro handles it properly. The Work Order module generates an order with unlimited text, schedules and tracks the activity and its status, assigns it by trade or to a third-party supplier, creates batches for recurring work, emails the assignment, tracks cost and materials, bills owners and members where that applies, and holds item tracking with warranty and warning alerts. Maestro describes the module as keeping the front desk, housekeeping and maintenance functioning cohesively, and it does. The unstated dependency in all of it is that somebody looked, recognised the problem, and wrote it up at the end of a shift. That first step is the one RapidEye supplies, which is why the integration feeds the Work Order module rather than competing with it.

Does RapidEye integrate with Maestro PMS?
Yes. RapidEye reads the room list and reservation dates from Maestro and the photos your room attendants take, then returns a finding per room: damage, a missed clean, a missing item, or something for the Work Order module, with the photos on either side. Maestro's Housekeeping Statuses, assignments, work orders and reservations are not changed.
Can you attach a photo to a room in Maestro's Housekeeping module?
Maestro's own Housekeeping Management quick reference guide runs to twenty-seven pages covering status codes, service schedules, credits, assignment, the history log, the Discrepancy Report and Offmarket rooms, and it describes no way to attach an image to a room, a service or a status. The free text a room carries is a Text Message, and the guide notes that only messages entered that day, before the Night Audit is run, can be viewed. Photos live with RapidEye instead.
What does a Housekeeping Status in Maestro actually prove?
That a person keyed it. Maestro lets a property define up to ten status codes, each carrying an Occupied flag and a Clean flag, and a status can be set on one room, a list of rooms, a range of consecutive room numbers, all rooms for one attendant, or through the guest telephone using the PBX interface. Every one of those routes records that someone said the room is clean. None of them records the room. RapidEye reads the photos and either confirms the status or contradicts it.
Does RapidEye work with the Maestro Work Order module?
It feeds it. Maestro's Work Order module holds a repair once someone raises it, with unlimited text, scheduling, assignment by trade or third-party supplier, and cost and materials tracking. What it cannot do is notice. RapidEye reads the photos and names the maintenance issues nobody wrote up, so the work order gets raised with dated photographs already attached to the finding.
We run Maestro on Windows, not the browser version. Does that matter?
No. Maestro offers a browser version and a Windows version, deployed cloud hosted, self hosted, on premise or as a hybrid of both. RapidEye reads the room list and the dates and reads photos taken on any phone, so the deployment you chose does not change what comes back. Tell us which one you run and we set it up around it.
Will RapidEye change a room status or raise work orders in Maestro?
No. Maestro stays the system of record for statuses, assignments, work orders, Offmarket rooms and reservations. RapidEye reads and reports; your supervisor decides whether a room goes back to dirty, whether a work order is raised, and whether a room comes out of inventory.
