AI vehicle inspection for Rent Centric

RapidEye reads the 360 damage photos and video walk-around your agents capture at check-out and check-in, and returns a finding per issue tied to the vehicle and the rental.

What a Rent Centric check-in captures

Overview

Your Rent Centric condition media is a complete evidence file that stops being looked at the moment the vehicle is back on the lot. Rent Centric runs the rental end to end, and its mobile apps put a 360 damage capture and a video walk-around into both the check-out and the check-in, with the fuel level, the odometer and the status set at the same time. The capture is good. The reading is the part that never gets staffed: a branch turning thirty vehicles a day produces more frames in a week than a fleet manager will open in a quarter, so damage that was photographed cleanly is still discovered a month later, by which time the renter is gone. RapidEye reads all of it and returns a finding per issue, with the vehicle, the panel, the severity and the frames.

Every check-in readNot the vehicles someone got around to. Every branch, every return, on the day the keys came back.
New damage, separated from oldRapidEye holds every appearance of that vehicle, so a fresh scuff is not confused with one logged two rentals ago.
Rent Centric stays the recordNo reservation, agreement, vehicle record or status is changed. RapidEye reads and reports back.

How it works with Rent Centric

Rent Centric already sorts the fleet by what is happening to it, so the checks follow the rental itself, from the moment a vehicle is assigned to a contract to the moment it goes back on the availability board.

  • Check-out capture. The frames that decide what you can bill for later. RapidEye reads them as a condition statement for that vehicle on that date, so a dispute at return is about what changed and not about whether the dent was already there.
  • Check-in capture. The one that pays. Kerbed alloys, a cracked bumper cover, a scuffed door card, a burn in the upholstery, a wing mirror glass gone: each comes back as a finding naming the panel, the severity and the two frames it sits between.
  • Cleanliness and readiness. Not damage, and still the reason the next customer calls. Rubbish in the door bins, sand in the footwells, a stained rear seat, a missing floor mat or parcel shelf. These are typed separately so they route to the wash bay rather than to a claim.
  • Loaner and subscription handovers. Longer terms mean more happens between the two captures, and nobody remembers what the car looked like in March. RapidEye keeps the whole run of appearances against the vehicle so a six-month subscription return still has a starting point.
  • Capture quality. When a required angle is dark, cut off or missing from the sequence, RapidEye says which one, while the vehicle is still in the lane and can be rewalked.
  • Vehicle history at the fleet level. Across a branch, the same panel taking damage on the same model, or one agent's returns coming back consistently short on angles, is a pattern you can act on rather than an anecdote.

Every finding names the vehicle, where on it, what kind of issue, how serious, the frames before and after, and a suggested next step. Findings land in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want them there, in a Slack channel or an inbox per branch. What happens next is yours: whether it becomes a damage charge, a maintenance hold or nothing at all is a decision you make in Rent Centric. These are examples and not a limit. RapidEye reads whatever documentation your branches already produce, video walkarounds and 3D scans included, against whatever condition standard you hold your fleet to, so if the thing you want caught is not on this list, ask and we will set it up with you.

How to connect Rent Centric to RapidEye

  1. A Rent Centric account with your fleet in it. The vehicles you want watched, on the fleet with their make, model and current status. Rent Centric's fleet management is where that list already lives.
  2. Where the condition media is captured. Usually the mobile app your agents run at check-out and check-in. If a branch still captures on a phone camera outside the app, RapidEye sends a capture link that opens on any phone, no install, with a fixed set of angles.
  3. Read access to that media. Tell us you run Rent Centric and which branches to start with, and we set the access up with your team. Your agents keep the same tablet, the same contract flow, the same routine.

What a Rent Centric check-in captures

Checked against Rent Centric's product pages and its own app listing, September 2026.

Rent Centric On-Demand is a vehicle rental management platform, and its scope is wide: car rental, RV, motorcycle, boat, golf cart and accessible van, plus car share, peer to peer, dealership loaner, corporate fleet, long-term rental and subscription, all on one system. According to Rent Centric's product documentation (rentcentric.com), the mobile side is where condition is recorded. The Mobile Agent app lets staff complete vehicle check-outs and returns, capture photos and videos of vehicle condition, collect digital signatures, scan driver's licences and process rentals in real time, from the counter, the kerb or off site.

Mobile Agent ProThe whole rental on a tablet: reservation, agreement, check-out, check-in, contract signing, licence barcode scanning, and 360 image and video capture for damage control.
Counter Agent ProUpgrades, added services and electronic contract signing at the desk, with the completed agreement emailed automatically.
Mobile InspectRent Centric's dedicated inspection app, for the walk itself rather than the paperwork around it.

The inspection app is the most precise statement Rent Centric makes about condition. In its own App Store listing, published by Rent Centric, Inc., the app is described as a way to fully inspect vehicles in the field: a complete check-out and check-in damage inspection with 360 damage photos and a video walk-around, comparing damage photos with previous damage in the system, and adjusting the fuel level, odometer and status on the fly. So one check-in produces this:

Check-in, one vehicleWhat Rent Centric records at the return
  • 360 damage photosA fixed walk around the body, exterior panels covered from every side.
  • Video walk-aroundContinuous footage, which catches the things a still frame crops out.
  • Previous damageShown alongside, for the agent to compare against what is in front of them.
  • Fuel levelSet on the spot, against what went out on the contract.
  • OdometerThe distance this rental actually covered.
  • StatusUpdated on the fly, which is what puts the vehicle back on the availability board.
  • SignatureCaptured on screen through the contactless signing flow and stored with a date and time stamp.

Multiply that by every return at every branch, every day, for as long as you have run the platform.

Does Rent Centric already compare damage photos?

Yes, and it is the right feature. The inspection app puts previous damage next to what the agent is looking at, so a mark that was logged last month is not written up as new. That comparison is built for the person standing at the vehicle with a customer waiting, and for that job it is the correct tool.

What it cannot be is a reading of the whole fleet, because it needs a person at each vehicle with time and attention. That is the shape of the work, not a shortcoming of the software: at a busy return lane the agent has a queue behind them, and the frames get captured properly and looked at briefly. RapidEye picks up from there. It opens every check-in at every branch on the day it lands, compares against the full history of appearances for that vehicle rather than the most recent set, holds the same standard at 7am and at 7pm, and flags the small stuff that a fast walk is never going to catch: a hairline crack in a lens, wear starting on a bolster, a chip below the sightline. The agent's comparison keeps the disputes honest. The reading pass is what turns the archive into a queue of things to act on.

What about vehicles that are out for months?

Those benefit most. Rent Centric runs long-term rental, vehicle subscription, buy here pay here and corporate fleet on the same platform, and in all of them the gap between the check-out capture and the next one is measured in months. Nobody's memory covers that gap, which is exactly the case where a model that holds every prior appearance of the vehicle beats a person's recollection of it. The same is true of car share and peer to peer, where the vehicle changes hands without an agent present at all and the capture is the only witness there was.

Rent Centric integration FAQ

Does RapidEye integrate with Rent Centric?

Yes. RapidEye reads the vehicle condition photos and video your agents capture at check-out and check-in, along with the vehicle, the branch, the dates and the agent, and returns a finding per issue with the frames it appears in. Reservations, rental agreements, vehicle records and status in Rent Centric are not touched.

Where do the photos RapidEye reads come from?

From the capture your agents already do. Rent Centric's mobile apps take photos and video of vehicle condition during check-out and check-in, including a 360 damage capture and a video walk-around. If a branch still captures on a phone camera outside the app, RapidEye can take those instead through a capture link that needs no install.

Rent Centric already compares damage photos with previous damage. What does RapidEye add?

The comparison in Rent Centric is there for the agent standing at the vehicle, and it works. RapidEye does the pass nobody has time for: every check-in at every branch, read the day it happens, against the full run of appearances for that vehicle rather than the last one, so a new mark is separated from the marks that were already logged.

Can RapidEye read the photo history already sitting in Rent Centric?

Yes. On first connection RapidEye reads the condition history stored against each vehicle and builds a baseline for it, so the first report covers damage and wear that accumulated across earlier rentals, not only what happened this week.

Do my counter agents have to change anything?

No. They open the same app on the same tablet, run the same check-out and check-in, scan the licence and take the signature as they do now. RapidEye reads afterwards and nothing is added to the counter.

We run loaners and subscriptions, not daily rentals. Does it still fit?

Yes. Rent Centric runs dealership loaner, long-term rental, subscription, car share and P2P on the same platform, and every one of them is a handoff where a vehicle leaves in a known state and comes back in an unknown one. Longer terms make the reading more valuable, because more happens between the two captures.

Systems that run the same handoff Rent Centric does, or that document the condition on either side of it.
