AI room inspection for Preno
Check every room marked Clean on the Preno housekeeping report from your cleaner's photos, and see what changed since the last stay.
How Preno housekeeping worksOverview
Preno's housekeeping report is a room list, not a room check. It sorts the day into Turnovers, Departures, Stayovers, Arrivals, Closed and Empty rooms, assigns staff, holds notes, and tracks each room from Dirty to Cleaning to Clean. It stores no photos, and Clean is a status someone sets by hand. RapidEye connects the two halves: it reads the room list and booking dates from Preno and the photos your cleaner takes in each room, then returns a finding for every room marked Clean, tied to the Preno booking.
How it works with Preno
The housekeeping report already sorts rooms by the kind of clean they need, so the checks follow its sections.
- Turnovers and departures. The previous guest's stay sits between the last clean photos and today's. A burn on the bench or a cracked mirror comes back as a finding with both photos and the booking dates between them.
- Stayovers. Preno tracks that sheets are due every third day. RapidEye reads the stayover photo and flags an unmade bed, a full bin or an untouched bathroom before the guest is back.
- Arrivals. A room that sat empty gathers dust, dead bulbs and a kettle someone borrowed for another room. RapidEye tells you what is missing from the photo that was there last time.
- Closed and empty rooms. Closed rooms carry a note that maintenance is required and nothing else. RapidEye keeps the photo from before the closure and the photo after, so the repair has a dated record.
- Missing items and stocking. The remote, the second towel, the coffee pods. RapidEye knows what a stocked room looks like at your property and says when this one is not.
Each finding names the room, the spot, the type of problem, how serious it is, the before and after photos, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want, your inbox or phone. You decide whether the room goes back to Dirty.
How to connect Preno to RapidEye
- A Preno account with the rooms you clean listed on the housekeeping report. Room types you have excluded from the report (campsites, car parks) stay excluded.
- Room photos from your cleaner. Preno has no photo field, so RapidEye sends a capture link that opens on any phone, no app to install. A fixed set of angles per room, lights on, taken before the status is set to Clean. If your cleaner already photographs rooms in another app, RapidEye reads those instead.
- A conversation with us. Tell us you run Preno and how many rooms. We connect it with your team. Your cleaner keeps the same report and the same routine, plus a few photos per room.
How Preno housekeeping works today
Checked against Preno's help centre, September 2026.
Preno is a cloud property management system for small hotels, motels and holiday parks, and the Housekeeping screen is its whole cleaning workflow. According to Preno's help centre documentation (prenohq.com), the report groups the day's rooms into six sections so the list matches the order a cleaner works in, with filters for status, room, assignee and notes.
Staff assignment splits the day's rooms evenly across whoever is working, controlled by a permission in Settings. Notes are a free-text line per room ("Extra towels needed" is Preno's example), visible to the team and kept in a note history.
Room status
Beside each room on the booking grid, Preno shows a colour-coded status so the front desk knows whether a room is ready. Most of the movement between statuses is automatic; the two that matter for quality are set by hand.
- Cleandefault
- Occupiedat check-in
- Dirtyat check-out
- Cleaningset by hand
- Cleanset by hand
Out of order is a fifth status, set manually; Preno notes such a room can still be booked online unless a room closure is applied. Preno keeps a change log of who set each status, and from the housekeeping report the options are limited to Clean, Cleaning and Dirty.
Does Preno have a housekeeping app or room photos?
Not a dedicated one. Preno's product pages say staff can log in from a phone, tablet or computer to see housekeeping progress and update status. The three housekeeping articles in its help centre describe filters, staff assignment, notes with a history, and status changes, and none of them describes attaching a photo to a room, a clean or a note. So Clean in Preno means somebody said so: a statement of completion, not of condition. That is the gap the integration fills.
Preno integration FAQ
Does RapidEye integrate with Preno?
Yes. RapidEye reads the room list and booking dates from Preno and the photos your cleaner takes in each room, then returns a finding per room: damage, a missed clean, a missing item, or a maintenance issue, with the before and after photos. Preno's housekeeping report, room statuses, and bookings are not changed.
Does the Preno housekeeping report include photos?
No. Preno's help centre describes notes with a history on each room, staff assignment, filters, and a room status change log. It does not describe a way to attach photos to a room or a clean. Room photos come from your cleaner's phone through a RapidEye capture link.
Can RapidEye check a room that was marked Clean in Preno?
Yes. In Preno, Clean is a status a person sets by hand once they decide the room is done. RapidEye reads the photos taken in that room and confirms or contradicts the status: a bed made wrong, a streaked mirror, a burn on the bench, a kettle that is not there. The finding names the room and the booking so you know which room to walk.
Will RapidEye change room statuses or bookings in Preno?
No. Preno stays in charge of the grid, the housekeeping report, and every status. RapidEye reads and reports; the manager decides whether to flip a room back to Dirty.
Is RapidEye worth it for a 12-room motel on Preno?
That is the property it was designed around. At a small motel the owner is the inspector and there is no time to walk twelve rooms before a 2pm check-in. RapidEye checks all twelve from the photos and points you at the one or two that need your eyes.
