AI room inspection for Little Hotelier
RapidEye reads the Little Hotelier housekeeping report and your cleaner's room photos, and checks every room set to Cleaned before the next guest walks in.
Inside the housekeeping reportOverview
The Little Hotelier housekeeping report is a printable list of today's rooms with a Cleaning status dropdown, not a record of what the room looks like. It shows which rooms are checking in, checking out or staying through, lets someone set each room to Cleaned, Uncleaned or Skip cleaning, holds a free-text room note, and prints. It stores no photos, and the report itself lives on the desktop version of Little Hotelier, so at most small properties it ends up on paper in the cleaner's hand. RapidEye reads the room list, the reservation dates and the Cleaning status from Little Hotelier, reads the photos your cleaner takes in each room, and returns a finding for every room set to Cleaned: damage, a missed clean, a missing item, or a maintenance issue, tied to the room and the stay.
How it works with Little Hotelier
The report gives each room two facts, a room status for the day and a Cleaning status someone sets, plus a note. RapidEye takes each of those as a cue for what to look for in the photos.
- A check-out room set to Cleaned. This is the turnover, and the photos from it carry the most weight. RapidEye compares them with the last photos of the same spots and reports what changed during the stay (a burn ring on the bedside table, a cracked tile in the shower) separately from what the clean missed (a streaked mirror, a bin liner not replaced, the second pillow gone). Both kinds come back with the reservation's dates attached, so you know which guest and which cleaner.
- A stay-through room set to Cleaned. A service clean with the guest's things in the room. RapidEye ignores the belongings and checks the parts of the room the clean is responsible for: bed, bathroom, bins, towels, the kettle tray.
- A room still on Uncleaned near check-in time. Nothing to read yet, and RapidEye does not invent anything. If a photo set arrives for a room that is still Uncleaned, the finding says so, because a room photographed before it was finished is the usual way a missed room gets past everyone.
- Skip cleaning. Left alone by default. Some properties use it for rooms mid-renovation or held for staff; if you want those photographed too, say so and RapidEye reads them against whatever standard you set.
- Room notes and guest requests. Little Hotelier's notes are where "extra cot in room 4" or "guest reported a dripping tap" gets written for the changeover shift. RapidEye reads the photo for the thing the note asks about: the cot is there or it is not, the tap is still dripping or it is not.
- A room closure for a repair. A closure blocks the room with a description and shows red on the calendar, but nothing records the room's condition when it closed or when it reopened. RapidEye keeps a dated photo of the spot from before and after, so the repair has a record and a returning problem is obvious.
A finding names the room, the spot, the type of problem, how serious it is, the earlier photo beside the new one, the time, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want, in your inbox. What happens next in Little Hotelier is yours: set the room back to Uncleaned, add a room note for the next shift, open a room closure for the repair, or nothing. The examples above assume photos because that is what most teams have; the product does not. A property that films a walkthrough of each room instead of shooting stills, or has an inspection sheet of its own it wants held to, is something we set up with you.
How to connect Little Hotelier to RapidEye
- A Little Hotelier account with a live housekeeping report. Your physical rooms are listed on the Front Desk calendar and the housekeeping report at My Apps, Front Desk, Reports is where the day's cleaning is tracked, with Cleaning status set to Cleaned or Uncleaned as rooms are done. Guests are checked out in Little Hotelier when they leave, so each room's dates are right.
- Room photos from your cleaner. The housekeeping report holds no photos, so RapidEye gives your cleaner a capture link that opens on any phone with nothing to install and no Little Hotelier login: a fixed set of angles per room, lights on, taken before the room is set to Cleaned. Teams that already photograph rooms in another app keep doing that; RapidEye reads those photos.
- Add Rapid Eye as a user. In Little Hotelier on desktop, click your property name at the top right, choose Manage users, then Add user. Enter the name Rapid Eye and the email support@rapideyeinspections.com, select Front Desk, choose the General user level and enable the Housekeeping and Reservations permissions. We accept the activation email and let you know when the first findings are ready.
The cleaner's day does not change, apart from a few photos per room before the dropdown is set. The report, the notes and the printout stay as they are.
The Little Hotelier housekeeping report, part by part
Checked against Little Hotelier's help centre, September 2026.
Little Hotelier is SiteMinder's all-in-one system for small properties: front desk, channel manager, booking engine and payments under one login, built for B&Bs and other small properties. Its housekeeping tool is a report rather than a module. According to Little Hotelier's help centre documentation (littlehotelier.com), it is opened from My Apps, then Front Desk, then Reports, alongside the revenue, check-in, payments and statistics reports, and it is there to give housekeeping staff visibility of today's arrivals, check-outs and room assignments. The parts it documents are these.
An illustration of the report's parts as Little Hotelier documents them, not a screenshot. The room numbers and notes are invented. Little Hotelier's calendar colours its reservations orange for Confirmed, green for Checked-in and grey for Checked-out, which is why those colours sit beside the room statuses here.
The date tabs. The report runs for Today, Tomorrow or a chosen range of dates, and Little Hotelier's product pages describe the view as the list of rooms with their status for the day: check in, check out or stay through. Tomorrow is how an owner sees how many turnovers are coming and whether one cleaner is enough.
The Cleaning status dropdown. Three values: Cleaned, Uncleaned and Skip cleaning. This is the only field on the report that says anything about the room's condition, and it is set by hand, by whoever is at the screen. Nothing in the documentation says a room flips back to Uncleaned at check-out on its own, and the reservation article says a Checked-out status signals that a room is ready for cleaning, which is a different thing from saying it is dirty on the report.
Room notes. Free text per room under Add note, saved with Save changes. Little Hotelier's own examples are extras and guest requests, and its front desk page calls them messages for changeover staff. The reporting FAQ says the notes can be printed and then updated once housekeeping is complete, which tells you how the report is used at most properties: printed in the morning, marked up on paper, keyed back in later.
Filters and Print report. The list can be narrowed by Room status or by Cleaning status, and printed in one click. The help centre says outright that if housekeeping staff do not have a Little Hotelier user account, another user can print the report for them.
The Housekeeping permission. Little Hotelier's user permissions include a Front Desk permission called Housekeeping, described as "view and edit the Housekeeping report only". It is the account you give a cleaner who is going to work from a screen rather than a printout, and it keeps them out of reservations, rates and payments.
What the report can tell you
- Which rooms turn over today and tomorrow, and which are stay-throughs.
- Which rooms someone has set to Cleaned, Uncleaned or Skip cleaning.
- What was asked for in each room, if someone wrote it in the note.
- Who can see it: users with the Housekeeping permission, or whoever holds the printout.
What it cannot tell you
- Whether a room set to Cleaned was cleaned, or cleaned well.
- What the room looked like when the guest left, or when the cleaner did.
- Whether the note was acted on.
- Whether anything is damaged, missing or broken.
Can the cleaner run housekeeping from the Little Hotelier app?
Not the report itself. Little Hotelier's mobile app article lists five sections, Home, Calendar, Reservations, Closed rooms and Distribution, and the setup article states that Setup, Inventory and Reports are not available on the app and must be managed from the desktop version. The app does let staff check guests in and out, which is the step that tells the report a room is ready for cleaning, and apply a room closure when a room needs to come off sale for a repair. So on a typical day at a Little Hotelier property the owner checks guests out from the phone, the report is printed or opened on the office computer, and the Cleaning status gets set at the desk afterwards. A RapidEye capture link fits that day without adding a login: it opens in the phone's browser, the cleaner photographs the room before it is marked Cleaned, and the finding arrives whether the dropdown was set from a screen or copied from a printout.
Does Little Hotelier store room photos?
No, not anywhere its documentation describes. The housekeeping article covers the Cleaning status dropdown, room notes, the date views, the filters and printing. The mobile app articles cover reservations, check-in and check-out, closures, payments, notifications and guest messaging. The reports article lists eleven reports and none of them takes an image. Room closures carry a description, which the calendar article says is an internal note not visible to guests, and nothing more. So Cleaned in Little Hotelier is a statement that somebody said the room was done, made by the person who did it or the person who took their word for it. That is the gap this integration is for: the report keeps telling the front desk which rooms are ready, and RapidEye supplies the part the report was never built to hold, a look at the room.
Little Hotelier integration FAQ
Does RapidEye integrate with Little Hotelier?
Yes. RapidEye reads the room list, the reservation dates and the Cleaning status from the Little Hotelier housekeeping report, and the photos your cleaner takes in each room, then returns a finding per room: damage, a missed clean, a missing item or a maintenance issue, with the earlier photo of the same spot beside the new one. The housekeeping report, its statuses, its room notes and your reservations in Little Hotelier are not changed.
Can I attach photos to the Little Hotelier housekeeping report?
No. Little Hotelier's help centre describes the housekeeping report as a room list with a Cleaning status dropdown (Cleaned, Uncleaned, Skip cleaning), free-text room notes, date filters and a Print report button. Nothing in the housekeeping, mobile app or reports documentation describes attaching a photo to a room, a note or a reservation. Room photos come from your cleaner's phone through a RapidEye capture link, and RapidEye matches them to the room and the stay.
Does the Little Hotelier mobile app show the housekeeping report?
Not according to Little Hotelier's documentation. The mobile app article lists Home, Calendar, Reservations, Closed rooms and Distribution, and says Reports must be managed in the desktop version. The housekeeping report lives at My Apps, Front Desk, Reports on desktop, or on paper once someone prints it. A RapidEye capture link needs neither: it opens in the phone browser, so the cleaner photographs the room without a Little Hotelier login.
What does RapidEye check when a room is set to Cleaned in Little Hotelier?
Cleaned is a dropdown value a person picks, so RapidEye treats it as a claim to test. It reads the photos taken in that room against the last photos of the same spots and against what a ready room at your property looks like: an unmade or badly made bed, streaks on the mirror, a bin not emptied, a missing kettle or remote, a new stain or scuff, a tap left running. A room set to Skip cleaning is left alone unless you ask otherwise.
Will RapidEye change a Cleaning status, a room note or a reservation in Little Hotelier?
No. RapidEye writes nothing to Little Hotelier. Cleaning status, room notes, reservation status, room closures and rates stay exactly as your team set them. Findings land in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want, in your inbox. Whether a room goes back to Uncleaned, gets a room closure for the repair, or a note for the next shift is your decision.
Is RapidEye useful for a 10-room B&B on Little Hotelier?
Yes, and that is who Little Hotelier is built for. At a small property the owner is usually the inspector and is also the front desk, the bookkeeper and sometimes the cleaner's backup. RapidEye reads the photos from every room set to Cleaned and tells you which one or two need your eyes before the next check-in, so the walk you do not have time for happens anyway.
