Overview

A photo in Ideagen is evidence for one answer, not a survey of the area it was taken in. Ideagen is built so that the answer, the finding, the corrective action and the evidence behind them live in one traceable place, and that is exactly what an external auditor wants to see. What no evidence trail can do on its own is look at ten thousand images and tell you what else was in them. RapidEye reads those attached photos with the site, the area and the asset they came from, and returns a separate finding for each condition issue visible in the frame, whether or not it belonged to the check.

How it works with Ideagen

Ideagen's platform covers several kinds of record that carry images, and RapidEye follows whichever of them your plants actually use. These are examples of the shape, not the limit of it: RapidEye reads whatever documentation a team already produces, including video walkthroughs and 3D scans, and reports against whatever standard you set.

• Machine pre-start checks. Ideagen's machine safety app carries checklists specific to the equipment type, and photos are taken to document an issue. RapidEye reads the same photo for the things a pre-start question never asked about: a missing pin, an oil pool under the track, a cracked screen guard on the machine behind.
• Quality inspections on the line. The image attached to a non-conformance shows the part. It usually also shows the bench, the tooling and the bin beside it, and RapidEye reports what changed there since the last inspection at that station.
• Internal and EHS audits. An audit walk produces a photo per section. Read together and against the last walk of the same area, they tell you which corrective actions actually changed the floor and which areas drift back within a month.
• Observations and near miss reports. One person photographs one hazard. RapidEye clusters those images by area over time, so a spot that generates a photo every fortnight stops looking like six unrelated reports.
• Contractor and shutdown work. Photos taken around a job show the state of the area before the crew arrived and after they left, which is the comparison nobody has time to make by hand.

Each RapidEye finding names the site, the area, where in the frame it is, the type of issue, how serious it looks, the before and after images, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard, and in an inbox or a Slack channel for the quality or EHS office if you want it there. Nothing is raised in Ideagen: your team reads the finding and decides whether it becomes a finding, an action or nothing at all. If your teams work in a format not listed above, that is a setup conversation rather than a limitation.

How to connect Ideagen to RapidEye

1. The products and sites in scope. Name the Ideagen products your plants run on and the sites you want read first. Audit types and areas you leave out of scope stay out of scope.
2. The records that carry photos. Point at the record types your teams already attach images to: audits, inspections, observations, pre-start checks. Where a check produces no images today, RapidEye sends a capture link that opens on any phone, no app to install, and the auditor takes a fixed set of angles before submitting.
3. A RapidEye user on the account. Add RapidEye as a user in Ideagen so it can read those records. The Connect Ideagen box on this page has the name and email to use.

What an Ideagen photo actually carries

Ideagen is a group of connected products rather than a single app: quality management, EHS, machine safety, internal audit and more, sold to regulated manufacturers who have to prove what they did. According to Ideagen's product documentation (ideagen.com), its inspection management solution covers the full lifecycle from planning and scheduling through mobile data capture to non-conformance detection and CAPA escalation, and its EHS side describes tracking findings, actions and evidence in one place. Ideagen Quality Management and Ideagen Smartforms both describe mobile-first capture that works offline, which is what makes a photo on a plant floor with no signal possible at all.

The clearest documented example is the pre-start check. Ideagen's machine safety pages describe a mobile app with digital pre-start checklists specific to more than 120,000 machine types, offline working, real-time sync to supervisors when connectivity returns, timestamped records with GPS location, and photo capture to document issues as they are found. So a single image arrives attached to a structured record that already knows a great deal about it.

Who looks at the photos attached to an Ideagen record?

The person the record routes to, and then almost nobody. That is not a gap in Ideagen; it is arithmetic. The evidence trail is designed so that any single image can be retrieved and defended later, and it does that job well. But a plant running pre-start checks on a few hundred assets across three shifts produces images faster than a supervisor can look at them, and the reviewer who does open one is answering the question the checklist asked. Nothing in that workflow is looking at the twenty per cent of the frame that has nothing to do with the guard, or comparing this week's photo of cell 4 with the one from March. That comparison is the whole of what RapidEye does with the images already sitting in your account.
