AI inspections for Enablon

Overview

An Enablon record is a decision with pictures behind it, and the pictures are the part nobody re-opens. Enablon is Wolters Kluwer's EHS, risk and sustainability platform, and its field apps are built to bring evidence back from site: checklist answers, Observations, findings, Action Plans, and the photos and videos attached to them. The evidence arrives correctly and completely. What no platform can do is give an EHS team the hours to look at every image a thousand-person site sends in a month. RapidEye reads that photo layer, compares each area against its own earlier images, and returns a finding for what is visible in the frame.

How it works with Enablon

Enablon sorts field work into records with different jobs, so the reading follows those records rather than flattening them into one pile.

• Inspection checklists. A question is answered and a photo goes with it. RapidEye reads the photo against what that area looked like on the last few rounds, so a blocked extinguisher, a spill that has spread, or a guard that was there in March comes back named and located, whichever way the question was answered.
• Observations. An Observation is raised because a person saw one thing. The image usually holds more than one. RapidEye returns the rest of what is in the frame: the housekeeping behind the subject, the stacked pallet at the edge, the damage on the wall that nobody was looking at.
• Audit findings. Auditors upload photo or video evidence with a finding. RapidEye keeps those frames as the dated record of the area and reads the next audit's evidence against them, so a corrective action has a before and an after rather than two paragraphs.
• Events and near misses. An event report carries pictures of a place at a moment. That moment is the most valuable baseline a site has, and RapidEye holds it as one.
• Areas nobody photographs on purpose. Yard, mezzanine, the back of the building. If a walkthrough covers them at all, the photos exist, and reading them is the whole cost of finding out.

Each finding names the site, the area, where in the frame it sits, what kind of issue it is, how serious it looks, and the earlier photo it is being compared against. Findings land in the RapidEye dashboard, and in an inbox or a Slack channel if your EHS group wants them there. Your team decides what becomes an Observation or an Action Plan in Enablon, because the platform stays in charge of that. If your sites capture something other than stills, video walkthroughs, drone passes, 3D scans, or an inspection format of your own, that is a setup conversation and not a limit; ask us.

How to connect Enablon to RapidEye

1. Name the sites and the records. Which plants or areas to start with, and which record types carry your field photos: inspections, audits, Observations or events.
2. Confirm the field apps. Enablon Go, Enablon Inspection and Enablon Audit all attach photo or video evidence, and RapidEye reads whichever ones your sites run. If a crew also captures video outside Enablon, RapidEye reads that too.
3. Read access from your administrator. Enablon publishes no self-serve invite path, so this last step happens with our team and yours on a short call, and nothing about how your field teams work changes.

What the Enablon field apps send back

Enablon is not one app on a phone. According to Wolters Kluwer's Enablon Go documentation (wolterskluwer.com), the mobile side is a set of apps built for different jobs on site, each one connected to the same Enablon platform and each one able to work offline and sync when the signal comes back. The App Store listings, published by Enablon France, describe what each app lets a user create.

All three write back to the same platform, where Enablon's modules pick the record up: Safety Observations for behaviour-based safety, Audit Management, Inspection Management, Incident Management, Action Plan Management for corrective and preventive plans.

Who looks at the photos after they land?

Almost nobody, and that is a maths problem rather than a product one. Enablon's design goal, stated on its own pages, is that people spend their time in the field instead of at a desk, and the apps deliver on it: the evidence gets captured, tagged, located and filed without anybody typing a report at the end of a shift. Downstream, the platform's analytics work on the structured part of the record, the answers, the scores, the statuses and the trends, because that is the part software has always been able to count. The image sits attached to the record, correct and complete, and is opened again only when somebody has a reason to go looking. A programme that runs a few thousand photos a month across a dozen plants has no reason for most of them, which means the condition sitting in the corner of frame 400 stays there. Reading is the part RapidEye adds, and it changes nothing about how the record was made.
