How a work order carries imagesOverview
A Maintenance Connection work order is an excellent account of what was done, and a silent one about what it looked like. It carries the reason, the asset, the priority, the repair center, the procedure and its tasks, the labour and part costs, an audit trail of every change, and an Attach tab where the images from the field land. Those images are the only direct evidence of condition anywhere in the system, and once the work order is closed almost nobody opens them again. RapidEye reads them with the asset, the site and the dates attached, compares them against the last set for that asset, and returns a finding for anything that is wrong or different.
How it works with Maintenance Connection
The system already sorts work into kinds, and the reading follows the same split.
- PM work orders. A schedule generates the work order and attaches its procedure, so the same asset is photographed against the same task list at a known interval. RapidEye lines this month's images up against the last set and reports what moved: corrosion spreading, a gasket weeping, a belt that is glazed where it was not.
- Corrective work orders. The image taken at the reason, and the image taken at completion. RapidEye says whether the second one shows the first one fixed, or shows the same fault with better lighting.
- Requested work that never got issued. A requester's photo sits on a work order that went to Denied or is still sitting at Requested. RapidEye reads it anyway and tells you if what is in it has since got worse on another work order for the same asset.
- Offline work from MC Kinetic. Images captured with no connectivity and synced later are read when they land, so a remote site is not a blind spot.
- Housekeeping, grounds and standards work. Not every job has a failure mode. For the work that is judged by how a space looks rather than whether a machine runs, RapidEye reads the images against the standard you set and reports the room, not the asset.
Each finding names the site, the asset or location, the spot, what kind of problem it is, how serious it is, the two images it is built from and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard, and in a Slack channel or the maintenance office inbox if you want it there. What happens in Maintenance Connection is your team's call: a new work order, a reopened one, a note against the asset, or nothing. And if your evidence is not still images, video walkthroughs, 3D scans, an inspection format your compliance team wrote, that is a setup conversation rather than a limit.
How to connect Maintenance Connection to RapidEye
- A Maintenance Connection account with your assets in it. Work orders carry an asset or location, so the asset register is what findings get tagged against. Tell us which repair centers you want read.
- Images on the work order. Technicians already attach them from MC Express or MC Kinetic and they land on the Attach tab, so RapidEye reads them there. If a site is not photographing work yet, a RapidEye capture link opens on any phone with no app to install and walks the technician through a fixed set of angles per asset.
- Invite RapidEye from the Membership module. A read-only access group is enough. The modal has the details.
How a Maintenance Connection work order carries an image

Maintenance Connection is Accruent's CMMS and EAM platform, used across manufacturing, healthcare, utilities, higher education and multi-site facilities portfolios. According to Maintenance Connection's help centre documentation (maintenanceconnection.com), work orders are described as the heart of the system, and a new one is created with a Reason, a Type, a Target Date, Target Hours, a Priority and a Repair Center, usually attached to an asset so that costs and completed work can be reported against it. From there the work order moves through statuses that each organization defines for itself.

Where exactly do the images live?
On the Attach tab of the work order, which opens on a Documents page listing every document tied to that record and to its associated records such as the asset or the procedure. Maintenance Connection's documentation says images can be placed on either the Documents page or the Images page, and recommends the Images page because it shows the picture without making you open it first. That is a small, honest sentence about a real problem: opening attachments one by one is friction, and friction at the end of a shift means the images do not get looked at. Technicians put them there from MC Express, the browser-based mobile interface, or from MC Kinetic, the native app that keeps working offline and syncs when it reconnects.
Does the CMMS check what is in the picture?
No, and no CMMS does. Maintenance Connection's job is to make sure the right procedure exists, gets scheduled, gets assigned, gets done and gets recorded, and it is unusually strong at the recording: an audit trail of every change to a work order, digital signatures for teams under FDA Title 21 CFR Part 11, standardised PM procedures so the same steps happen the same way every interval. Each PM schedule must carry at least one procedure, and where several run at different multiples of the base interval, the longer procedures are usually cumulative supersets of the shorter ones. All of that produces a beautifully consistent stream of images of the same asset at known intervals, which is exactly the input a comparison needs and exactly the input nobody has time to compare. That is the seat RapidEye takes.

Does RapidEye integrate with Accruent Maintenance Connection?
Yes. RapidEye reads the images attached to your Maintenance Connection work orders, along with the asset, the location, the procedure and the dates, and returns a finding for each problem it sees in them: work that is not finished, a condition nobody logged, a part that was never replaced, with the earlier and later images side by side. Work orders, assets, procedures and PM schedules stay exactly as your team left them.
Where do the images RapidEye reads come from?
From the Attach tab on the work order. Maintenance Connection gives every work order a Documents page and an Images page, and its own documentation notes that images can go on either but that the Images page shows them without having to open them first. Technicians add them from MC Express or from the MC Kinetic native app, including work captured offline and synced later.
Does RapidEye check work orders generated from a PM schedule?
Yes, and those are the ones worth checking. A PM schedule attaches a procedure to each generated work order and the procedure's tasks appear on Work Order Tasks, so the same asset is photographed against the same task list at a known interval. RapidEye compares this month's images of that asset with the last set and returns what changed, which is the record an auditor asks for.
Can RapidEye tell whether a completed work order was actually completed?
It can tell you what the images show. Completed is a status a person sets in the Complete/Close dialog. RapidEye reads the images on that work order and reports what is in them: a guard still off, a leak still wet, a replacement that looks like the old part. The finding names the asset and the location so a supervisor knows where to walk.
Will RapidEye change a work order, an asset or a PM schedule?
No. Maintenance Connection stays in charge of every record and every status. RapidEye reads and reports back. Your team decides whether a finding becomes a new work order, a reopened one, or a note on the asset.
