How a room moves through SweeplyOverview
In Sweeply, a photo is an Issue: something a housekeeper noticed and chose to report. Clean is a Stop button, and Inspection is a room waiting for a supervisor's Stop. That is a good design for running a floor. The unit list comes from the PMS, rules turn bookings into cleanings, Play and Stop time each room, the camera turns a broken lamp into a categorised Issue that reaches maintenance while the housekeeper carries on, and the Tasks and Issues reports show who did how much. What none of it does is look at the finished room. RapidEye reads the photos saved to each unit, the unit's status and the dates behind it, and returns one finding per problem, with the earlier photo of the same spot beside the new one, so the room a supervisor never reached still gets checked.
How it works with Sweeply
Sweeply organises the day around units and the rules on them, so the checks follow the same shape: what a housekeeper photographs in a room, and the status that room is in when they do.
- Issue photos, read against the room's history. Sweeply's own example of an Issue is a stain on the carpet. RapidEye reads that photo against the last photo of the same carpet and reports whether the stain is new to this stay or has been in every photo since spring, and keeps both, with the unit and the dates, as the record. A photo taken for a broken lamp is also read for what is beside the lamp: the scuffed wall, the missing remote, the chair that has moved rooms.
- Checkout cleanings, at Stop. A checkout rule turns the room red at check-out, Play turns it yellow, Stop turns it green. Where a team photographs the finished room through the Sweeply camera before pressing Stop, RapidEye reads those angles for what a tick cannot show: a bed made over a stained sheet, a streaked mirror, a bin liner not replaced, two towels where the room type keeps four. A room whose photos skip the bathroom is a finding too, since a missing photo is how a missed room stays hidden.
- Rooms in Inspection. With an Inspection rule, Stop sends the room to brown instead of green and a supervisor's Stop clears it. RapidEye reads the room while it waits, so the supervisor's list is sorted by what the photos show rather than by room number, and on the days nobody gets to the fourth floor the rooms there were still checked.
- Stayovers and linen changes. Sweeply's example rules include daily housekeeping and a linen change every three days, shown in pink. Photos from those services are read for what the service was meant to do: fresh linen actually on the bed, the bathroom touched, the bin emptied, and for anything the guest has done to the room since arrival.
- Units that are not rooms. Sweeply lets you create units for the lobby, hallways, shared bathrooms or the garden and put date-based rules on them. Photos saved to those units are read the same way, so a cracked lobby tile or a burnt-out corridor light is reported the day it is photographed.
- Lost and Found. An Issue in the Lost and Found category is read for what the item is and where it was, and RapidEye notes whether the same spot in the last photo showed the item or not, which settles the question of which guest left it.
Each finding names the unit and the spot, what kind of problem it is (damage, cleaning, missing item, maintenance), how serious it is, the earlier and later photos, the time, and a suggested next step. RapidEye puts each finding in its dashboard and, if your team works from Slack or email, sends it there as well. What happens in Sweeply is your team's decision: a new Issue for maintenance, a room set back to Dirty by someone with the role to do it, a note on the unit. Whatever your team records, that is what RapidEye reads. A team that films a walkthrough of each room instead of shooting stills, or that has a scan of each room type, or that wants findings scored against its own brand-standards form, gets that set up with us on the first call.
How to connect Sweeply to RapidEye
- A Sweeply account with units and rules. Your rooms synced from your PMS as units, grouped by floor or wing under Settings, then Units, with a Checkout cleaning rule on them under Settings, then Rules. If you run an Inspection rule as well, RapidEye reads the room while it waits in Inspection; if you do not, it reads the room when it goes Clean.
- Photos of the finished room. The Sweeply camera saves a photo to a unit under a category. Ask housekeepers to shoot a fixed set of angles per room, lights on, through that camera before pressing Stop, under a category you create for it in Settings; Sweeply's own documentation suggests a room-condition category as one use of custom categories. If you would rather keep the Sweeply camera for faults only, a RapidEye capture link opens on any phone with nothing to install and does the same job.
- Add RapidEye as a user. In Sweeply, go to Settings, then Users, then New user, and add Rapid Eye with the email support@rapideyeinspections.com, the User role, and every unit group you want checked. The Connect button above has the details ready to copy.
Housekeepers keep the same app, the same My Tasks list and the same Play and Stop. The one habit that helps is shooting the same angles in every room, because the comparison gets sharper each time the same wall is photographed from the same place.
How a room moves through Sweeply, from checkout to Clean

Sweeply is a housekeeping and maintenance platform for hotels, run by Sweeply ehf. in Reykjavik and connected to the PMS the hotel already uses. According to Sweeply's help centre documentation (getsweeply.com), a room is a unit, bookings sync in from the PMS, and rules on each unit set its cleaning status automatically: the defaults are a clean on checkout and a stayover clean every day, with examples for an Inspection rule, a linen change every three days, and date-based rules for units with no bookings, such as the lobby. Housekeepers work from the My Tasks tab in the mobile app and time each room with Play and Stop. The whole run of a checkout room, and where RapidEye reads in it, looks like this.

Sweeply gives every unit one of nine colours so the board can be read at a glance. The four above are the checkout run; the other five describe rooms RapidEye reads when photos arrive from them.

What Sweeply holds on a room, and what each part can prove
A Sweeply unit collects more than a colour. The help centre documents a checklist on the rule, Issues with photos and categories, three kinds of notes, an Inspection rule, and reports for Admins and House Managers. Each was built to answer a different question, and the honest version of what each one tells you on its own is this.

Does Sweeply inspect the room, or record that someone did?
It records the inspection. Every quality signal in Sweeply's documentation is set by a person: the housekeeper's Stop turns the room green, the supervisor's Stop clears Inspection, checklist items are ticked by whoever holds the phone, and an Issue exists only if a housekeeper decided to raise it. The help centre's articles on the cleaning workflow, on reporting Issues while cleaning, on checklists, on user roles and on reports describe how a photo gets onto a unit and who can see it, and none of them describes anyone looking at a photo of a finished room and judging it. Sweeply's product pages say the same thing from the other direction: a photo says it all, snap one and it becomes a tracked issue. That is exactly the right thing for a fault, and it is the gap for the room as a whole. Sweeply already puts a camera in every housekeeper's hand and ties every photo to a unit, a person and a time. RapidEye is the part that reads those photos, every one of them, and says what they show.
Sweeply integration FAQ
Does RapidEye integrate with Sweeply?
Yes. RapidEye reads the photos your housekeepers take with the camera in the Sweeply app, together with the unit each photo is saved to, its category, who took it and when, and the unit's cleaning status as it moves from Dirty through Preparing to Clean or Inspection. It returns a finding per problem: damage, a missed clean, a missing item, or a maintenance fault, with the earlier photo of the same spot beside the new one. Nothing in Sweeply is changed: units, rules, statuses, Issues, assignments and reports stay as they are.
Do Sweeply cleaning tasks include photos?
Not on the cleaning itself. In Sweeply a housekeeping task is timed with Play and Stop and can carry a checklist of items to tick. Photos are taken with the camera button and saved as an Issue on a unit, with a category such as Maintenance or Lost and Found. So the photos Sweeply holds are the ones a housekeeper chose to report. For a check of the whole finished room, your team either photographs a fixed set of angles through the Sweeply camera under a category you set up for it, or uses a RapidEye capture link on any phone.
Can RapidEye check a room Sweeply shows as Clean or Inspection?
Yes. In Sweeply, Clean means the housekeeper pressed Stop, and Inspection means the room is waiting for a supervisor to press Stop after looking at it. RapidEye reads the photos of that room and reports what they show, so a supervisor with twenty rooms in brown knows which two to walk first, and a property with no Inspection rule gets a check on every room anyway.
Does RapidEye read the Issues housekeepers already report in Sweeply?
Yes. An Issue photo of a stained carpet or a broken lamp is read against the last photo of the same spot, so RapidEye can say whether the stain is new to this stay or has been there for a month, and it keeps both photos with the unit and the dates as the record. It also reads the rest of the frame, so a problem behind the one the housekeeper aimed at is reported too.
Will RapidEye change statuses, Issues or reports in Sweeply?
No. RapidEye reads and reports. It does not press Stop, create or close Issues, change a unit's colour, reassign work or touch the Tasks or Issues reports. Findings land in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want, a Slack channel or an inbox. What happens next in Sweeply, an Issue for maintenance or a room set back to Dirty, is your team's call.
