AI turnover inspection for Homhero

Read every photo your cleaners attach when they mark a clean completed in the Homhero Cleaning App, and get back what the completion checklist never asked about.

How the Homhero clean checklist works

Overview

The Homhero clean completion checklist is an attestation, not an inspection. A cleaner answers four Yes or No questions, adds a note, taps Take Photo, and taps Complete, and the dashboard arrival list turns green. The photos go in and nothing reads them; the answers are given by the person whose work is being measured, at the end of a shift, with the next property waiting. RapidEye reads the other side of it: your property list and stay dates from Homhero, and every photo attached to those completed cleans, returning a finding for each problem the photos show.

Every completed cleanNot the ones a coordinator had time to open. Seventy departures on a Saturday get the same reading as seven.
Damage tied to a stayHomhero already holds the departure and arrival dates for that property. A finding arrives with the photos on either side of the guest who was in it.
Homhero stays the recordNo clean, work order, roster, invoice or owner statement changes. RapidEye reads and reports.

How it works with Homhero

Homhero already splits the week into the shapes a cleaning team works in, so the checks follow them.

  • The departure clean. The guest who just left sits between the last set of photos for that property and this one. A chipped benchtop, a burn on an outdoor setting, a remote that is gone comes back as a finding with both photos and the stay dates between them, instead of surfacing weeks later when someone goes looking.
  • The pre-arrival inspection. Homhero tracks a Pre-Inspection status on the area alongside the clean, and it can be closed out automatically. RapidEye reads the photos and says whether the property is actually guest-ready, which is the question that status was standing in for.
  • Light bulbs, on the checklist and in the photo. The completion checklist asks whether any bulbs need replacing. RapidEye reads the room rather than the answer, and a dark fitting in a lit room is a finding whether or not anyone ticked Yes.
  • Damage nobody raised. The checklist asks whether there is damage to report, and the honest answer costs the cleaner time and a conversation. RapidEye is not asking anyone. It compares the property against how it looks clean and returns what moved, broke or vanished.
  • Ad-hoc cleans and owner presentation checks. Mid-stay cleans, deep cleans and owner checks are scheduled as their own jobs in Homhero, and their photos read the same way against the same baseline.
  • Outside the walls. Drains, spider webs, pool gates, a boat lift left down. If it is in the frame it is checked, and the ones peculiar to your coast are something we set up with you.

Each finding names the property, the room or spot, the type of problem, how serious it is, the photos behind it, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard, and in a Slack channel or an inbox if you want it there. What happens next in Homhero is yours to decide: a work order, a conversation with the cleaning team, an owner note, nothing at all. And if your teams shoot video walkthroughs, run an inspection format of their own, or hold a standard nobody else supports, that is a setup conversation rather than a limit.

How to connect Homhero to RapidEye

  1. A Homhero account with your properties listed. Your properties as they already sit in Property Management, with the cleaning checklists and area notes you have set up on them. Nothing needs restructuring.
  2. Photos on the clean. Cleaners already tap Take Photo on the completion checklist before finishing a clean, and RapidEye reads those. If a team is not photographing yet, a RapidEye capture link opens on any phone with a fixed set of angles per room, taken before the clean is marked completed.
  3. Add RapidEye as a user. Add us in Homhero under Staff Access. The Connect modal on this page has the path and the details.

The Homhero clean completion checklist, field by field

Checked against Homhero's help centre, September 2026.

Homhero is an Australian holiday rental platform, and its cleaning workflow runs through the Cleaning App, a web app cleaners reach at a URL with an account code and a mobile number rather than an install. According to Homhero's help centre documentation (homstar.zendesk.com), a cleaner opens the clean, sees the area details, departure details and arrival details for that property, taps Mark Completed, and is then given a short form. That form is the entire quality record of the clean.

Take Photo adds photos of the clean or any damage, then Complete closes the job.

Read it as an operator and the shape is plain. Four of the five fields are questions put to the person whose work is being judged, and three of them are cheaper to answer No. The photos are the only part of the record that does not depend on what the cleaner chose to say, and they are also the only part nobody opens. That gap is the whole opportunity.

What the office actually sees

A green indicator. Homhero's own description of the Cleaner Portal is that cleaners mark properties completed in real time, which instantly updates the dashboard arrival list, and from the Current Cleaning and Cleaning History tabs the office can tick many cleans at once and bulk update them to Cleaned. The photos sit inside the individual clean. Nothing in that flow puts a photo in front of a coordinator, and nothing compares this clean to the last one at the same property.

How far back does the Cleaning App history go?

Thirty days, at most. Homhero's cleaning settings documentation says future cleans can be shown up to sixty days in advance while past cleans display only up to thirty, and explains that the limit exists because today's date is not part of the function that retrieves past cleans. For a cleaner planning a week that is fine. For anyone working out when a stain first appeared, or which of six stays cracked the blind, a thirty-day window in the field app is the wall you hit. RapidEye keeps the property's whole photo history and reasons across it, which is why a finding can point at the stay a problem started in rather than the day somebody noticed.

Does Homhero verify the pre-arrival inspection?

Not on its own. Homhero carries a Pre-Inspection and a Pre-Maintenance status on the area beside the clean, and its cleaning settings include a toggle called Autocomplete Back to Back Inspections: where an arrival inspection falls on the same day as a departure clean, marking the departure clean completed also marks that arrival inspection completed. It is a sensible setting for a real Saturday, and it also means the inspection can be signed off by the same act that signed off the clean. Reading the photos puts an independent check back into that pair without adding a person to the roster.

Homhero integration FAQ

Does RapidEye integrate with Homhero?

Yes. RapidEye reads your Homhero property list and stay dates, and the photos your cleaners attach when they mark a clean completed in the Homhero Cleaning App, then returns a finding per issue: damage, a missed clean, a missing item, or a maintenance defect, with the photos behind it. Your cleans, work orders, rosters and owner statements in Homhero are not touched.

Where do the photos RapidEye reads come from in Homhero?

From the Cleaning App. Homhero's help centre documentation describes a Take Photo step on the clean completion checklist, where cleaners add photos of the clean or of any damage before tapping Complete. Those are the photos RapidEye reads. If a property has no photo habit yet, RapidEye can send a capture link that opens on any phone with no app to install.

Can RapidEye check a clean that was already marked Completed in Homhero?

Yes, and that is the point. Marked Completed in Homhero means the cleaner answered the completion checklist and tapped Complete. RapidEye reads the photos attached to that clean and either backs the answer or contradicts it: a bed made badly, a bathroom shot from the doorway, a stained mattress protector, a lamp that is no longer in the room.

Does RapidEye help with the light bulb question on the Homhero checklist?

That question is a self-report, so a tired cleaner at the end of a long day answers No. RapidEye reads what the photo shows instead: a dark shade in a lit room, a bulb missing from a three-arm fitting, a lamp that was on in every earlier photo of that room and is off in this one. The finding names the room and the fitting.

Will RapidEye change cleans, work orders or statuses in Homhero?

No. Homhero stays the system of record for bookings, cleans, maintenance jobs, trust accounting and owner statements. RapidEye reads and reports. If a finding deserves a work order, you raise it in Homhero the way you always have.

Does RapidEye work for a Homhero portfolio spread across several towns?

That is the case it was built for. Homhero portfolios often run hundreds of properties across a coast with contracted cleaning teams the office rarely sees in person. RapidEye reads every clean in the portfolio to the same standard rather than the handful someone had time to open.

Other holiday rental platforms RapidEye reads

All-in-one systems that run the bookings and the cleaning roster off the same property record, the way Homhero does.
