A reported deficiency in Fleet Cost & Care is a report, and somebody has to make it. NexGen carries the quote, the job, the schedule, the unit file, the service history and the certifications, and Atom carries the same records out to the job site, where operators, mechanics and service managers create work orders, enter labor, run safety checklists and sign tickets. Pictures of damage or wear can be attached with comments when a mechanic opens a deficiency. What no system can do is look at the photographs that never became an attachment. RapidEye reads the unit, the job and the crew from NexGen and every photo your people take around that job, and returns a finding per issue tied to the unit it belongs to.

How it works with Fleet Cost & Care
Fleet Cost & Care already routes a job through a series of records, each one owned by a different part of your company. The checks follow the same route, because that is where the photographs are taken.
The unit leaving the yard. A crane, a boom truck or a trailer that is scheduled to a job goes out in a condition somebody could describe. RapidEye reads the load-out photos and keeps them as the reference for that unit, so what comes back has something to be compared against.
The E-Ticket and the pre-job checks. Atom requires the pre-job inspection and site safety checklists to be completed before the job moves on. A completed checklist says the operator answered the questions. The photos say whether the outriggers were cribbed the way the plan called for, and RapidEye returns the difference.
The unit coming back. This is where damage is found, or missed at the end of a long day. RapidEye compares the return photos against the load-out set and names what changed: a gouged boom section, a dented counterweight, a hydraulic weep, a wire rope that is not the rope that went out.
Rigging, blocks and gear. Slings, shackles, spreader bars and blocks travel with the unit and come back short. RapidEye knows what goes out with each unit at your company and says when a photo does not have it.
The work order in the shop. Preventative maintenance and repairs are photographed by mechanics as they work. RapidEye keeps the before and the after against the unit file, so the repair has a dated visual record next to the service history.
Each finding names the unit, the job, where in the photo the problem is, what kind it is, how serious, the earlier and later photos, and a suggested next step. It lands in the RapidEye dashboard and, if you want it there, a Slack channel or an inbox for the shop and the dispatch office. You decide whether it becomes a reported deficiency, a work order, or a line in the file. If your crews shoot video walkthroughs of a unit instead of stills, or you want a check written against your own load-out standard rather than ours, that is a setup conversation, not a limit.

Fleet Cost & Care builds two halves of one system for crane, rigging and heavy equipment rental companies: NexGen on the desktop, where you quote and schedule jobs, add or remove equipment, view the day, week or month, track certifications and run the service department, and Atom on a phone or tablet, which the company describes as putting the same work in the hands of dispatchers, sales managers, operators and service managers, synced back to NexGen in real time. According to Fleet Cost & Care's own product and safety documentation (fleetcostcare.com), there are three records where a picture of a unit can end up, and each one holds a different part of the story.

What it carries
Signatures captured on the job site, timestamps with geo-tracking to verify where the employee was, real-time status the dispatcher can watch, offline use out of cellular range, and attached documents: lift plans, permits, and the pre-job inspection and site safety checklists that have to be completed before the job moves to the next stage.
What it does not show
The condition of the unit that did the lift. A completed checklist is an answer, not a photograph.

What it carries
Open work orders tracked and prioritised, coming due and past due preventative maintenance, deficiencies that get flagged and responded to, and, in Fleet Cost & Care's own words, pictures of damage or wear and tear attached with comments.
What it does not show
Anything nobody reported. The picture exists because a mechanic already saw the problem and decided to write it up.

What it carries
Detailed unit information a mechanic or service manager can pull up without calling the office: engine type, tires, transmission, hours, and attachments through the File Links tab, including inspections, certification records and reports.
What it does not show
Whether the unit still matches those records today. It is a filing cabinet on a phone, and it is only as current as the last person to file something.
Where the photos actually are
On somebody's camera roll. Fleet Cost & Care's documentation is precise about the audit trail it keeps: engine hour and odometer meter history, historical preventative maintenance and repairs on every unit, historical reported deficiencies, unit down time history, Power BI dashboards for service managers, and coming due and past due certifications. That is a strong record of what was written down. The photographs a crew takes across a rental job, the ones that would settle whether a gouge was there before the unit left, mostly live in a text thread. RapidEye reads them and files what it finds against the unit and the job.

Photographs are taken at all four points. Fleet Cost & Care documents a place to attach them at the fourth. RapidEye reads all four and ties them to the same unit.
Does Fleet Cost & Care have a mobile app for inspections?
It has Atom, and Atom does a great deal. Fleet Cost & Care describes it as a comprehensive mobile fleet management app used to create quotes and work orders, assign work to mechanics, enter labor, capture signatures on a job site, perform safety checklists, and check the status of jobs for any given period, all synced with NexGen in real time. Its safety documentation adds electronic checklists that employees view, complete and sign in real time, plus offline operation for refineries and rural sites. What none of that describes is anything reading the resulting pictures. That is not a shortcoming of Atom; it is a job no fleet system has ever been asked to do. It is the job RapidEye does, and Atom's records are what make each finding land on the right unit and the right job.

Does RapidEye integrate with Fleet Cost & Care?
Yes. RapidEye reads the unit, the job, the dates and the crew from NexGen, and the photos your operators and mechanics take on site and in the yard, then returns a finding per issue: damage, wear, a skipped check, or gear that is not on the unit, with the earlier and later photos. Quotes, jobs, schedules, work orders and unit records in NexGen are not changed.
Can Fleet Cost & Care hold photos of unit damage?
Yes. Fleet Cost & Care's safety and risk management documentation lists attaching pictures of damage or wear and tear with comments among its maintenance features, alongside flagging and responding to reported deficiencies. That happens when a mechanic decides to report something. RapidEye reads every photo the crew takes, including the ones nobody turned into a deficiency.
Does RapidEye replace the safety checklists in Atom?
No. Atom's checklists and e-signatures stay exactly as they are, including the rule that pre-job inspection and site safety checklists have to be completed before the job moves to the next stage. RapidEye reads the photos taken around those checks and tells you whether the unit matches what the checklist says.
What does RapidEye do about photos taken on a job with no signal?
Nothing changes for the operator. Atom is documented to work in offline mode when out of cellular and Wi-Fi range, and phone cameras work offline too. RapidEye reads the photos once they upload, so a refinery or a rural job site is a delay, not a gap.
Will RapidEye change a job, a work order or a unit record in NexGen?
No. NexGen stays the system of record for quoting, scheduling, service and reporting. RapidEye reads and reports; your service manager decides whether a finding becomes a deficiency, a work order, or a note on the file.
Is RapidEye useful for a crane fleet of thirty units?
That is a good size for it. Thirty units on rental jobs generate more photographs in a month than a service manager can open, and the ones that matter are the boom section nobody reported and the outrigger pad that came back cracked. RapidEye reads all of them and names the handful worth walking out to look at.
