What a Workcloud Walk capturesOverview
A Workcloud Walk records that a store was inspected, not what the photos of it show. Workcloud Task Management routes corporate work to associates on the device they already carry, and its Walk module lets a field manager move through a site review, skip and revisit sections, and capture high-resolution photos and video notes as they go. When a walk flags a gap, Workcloud generates a corrective task and tracks it to completion. What sits underneath all of that is a growing archive of store photography that no human being has time to open. RapidEye reads that archive: every image from every store, compared against what that store looks like when it is right, returned as a finding that names the store, the zone and the problem.
How it works with Zebra Workcloud
Workcloud Task Management is a set of modules rather than one screen, and the ones that produce media are the ones RapidEye reads. Each is a different vantage point on the same store, and together they cover far more of the estate than any walk schedule can.
- Walk media, read shelf by shelf. A field manager on a site walk captures what caught their eye. RapidEye reads the same frames for what did not: a fixture two facings short, a fire door propped, a queue rail out of position, a ceiling tile stained since the last visit. The finding names the zone and shows the frame it came from beside the last frame of the same zone.
- Task completion photos. A corporate directive lands on the associate's device, the associate does the work, and a photo goes on the task. Workcloud shows it completed. RapidEye reads the photo against the guideline the task was built from and says whether the end cap actually matches the plan, or is close, or is nothing like it.
- Form and incident submissions. Zebra says every form submission is categorized and archived in a searchable cloud database. Those attachments are condition evidence: a damaged unit, a spill, a broken chiller door. RapidEye reads them and connects the same problem appearing in eleven stores this month, which is a pattern no single submission shows.
- Vendor and maintenance sign-off. Workcloud lets contractors check in, log their work and sign off digitally. Photos taken before and after that visit are the only honest record of whether the repair happened. RapidEye holds both frames together against the store, so a signed-off job with an unchanged photo is visible.
- The stores that never get walked. This is the one that changes the arithmetic. Photos keep coming out of every location whether or not anyone is scheduled to visit, and reading all of them is what turns a sampled estate into a checked one.
A finding names the store, the zone, what kind of problem it is, how serious it is, and shows the frames it was read from. It reaches the RapidEye dashboard first; Slack or email delivery to the ops team is optional. What happens next in Workcloud is a person's decision, not ours. And if your estate captures something other than photos, video walkthroughs, a fixed capture format of your own, 3D scans of a flagship, that is something we set up with you rather than a limit to work around.
How to connect Zebra Workcloud to RapidEye
- The Workcloud modules your stores actually use. Tell us which parts of Workcloud Task Management are live in your estate: Walks for field manager site reviews, Forms for incident and maintenance submissions, Tasks for the corporate directives that land on associate devices. Those are the workflows that produce media, and the ones RapidEye reads.
- Where the photos come from. Most chains already have them. Workcloud Walk captures high-resolution photos and video notes during a site walk, and task and form completions carry their own attachments. If a store format in your estate captures nothing today, a RapidEye capture link fills the gap: any phone, no app to install, a fixed set of angles per zone, taken at the same point in the shift.
- Give RapidEye an account. Tell us the Workcloud account and how many stores it covers, and add Rapid Eye with the email support@rapideyeinspections.com. Zebra publishes no self-serve path for adding a user to Workcloud, so your Zebra administrator or account team sets the access up and we work it through with them.

Zebra Workcloud is the software half of Zebra, and Workcloud Task Management sits inside the Workcloud Enterprise Collaboration Suite. According to Zebra's own product documentation (zebra.com), it "automatically routes tasks in real-time" through a rules engine, plans and reserves workload capacity so associates and locations are not overloaded, and consolidates tasks, digital checklists and communication onto a single enterprise device. Zebra's published customer results include Office Depot raising its on-time task completion rate by 42 percent and Rack Room Shoes holding a 95 percent completion rate through a fourfold increase in task volume. Those numbers describe execution, which is what the platform is built to move. The map below is the same platform read a different way: which modules put a camera in an associate's hand, and what happens to the image afterwards.
Does Zebra Workcloud check what the store photos actually show?
Not in the way an operator means it. Workcloud's documentation is explicit and generous about capture and routing: Walk takes high-resolution photos and video notes, a flagged compliance gap becomes a tracked corrective task, form submissions are archived and searchable, and dashboards let you drill into a location and compare peer groups. Every one of those is a real capability and they are the reason chains run it. What none of the documented modules describes is a step where the content of an image is evaluated on its own, so that a photo nobody flagged can still produce a finding. Compliance in Workcloud is measured on what the person walking decided to mark. That is the honest shape of the workflow, in every task platform, not a shortcoming of this one. RapidEye reads the pile the workflow leaves behind, and the two together give you completion and condition in the same week.

Does RapidEye integrate with Zebra Workcloud?
Yes. RapidEye reads the photos and video your teams capture on Workcloud Walks, tasks and forms, along with the store, the date and who captured them, and returns a condition finding for each problem it sees. Nothing in Workcloud changes: tasks, walk scores, forms and dashboards stay exactly as your teams left them.
Does Workcloud Walk already capture photos?
Yes. Zebra describes Workcloud Walk as a flexible mobile inspection tool that lets field managers move through a site walk, skip sections, jump back and capture high-resolution photos and video notes on the fly, and it generates a prioritized task when the walk flags a compliance gap. The photos are captured and stored. What no documented feature does is look at the picture itself and say what is wrong in it. That is the half RapidEye adds.
Can RapidEye check stores nobody walked this month?
Yes, if any photos came out of those stores. A district manager can only walk so many sites, but task completion photos, form submissions and store-level captures keep arriving from every location. RapidEye reads all of them, so a store that has not seen a field manager in a quarter still gets its condition read.
Will RapidEye change tasks or walk scores in Workcloud?
No. Zebra Workcloud stays the system of record for tasks, walks, forms, schedules and inventory. RapidEye reads the media those workflows produce and reports findings back to your operations team. Whether a finding becomes a corrective task in Workcloud is your call, made by a person.
We run hundreds of stores. Is there too much media for this?
Volume is the reason to do it. A chain running Workcloud across several hundred stores produces more walk and task photos in a week than a regional team could open in a month, which is why the pile goes unread. RapidEye reads every image and returns only the stores with something wrong, so your regional managers spend their attention on the exceptions.
What about video walkthroughs instead of photos?
Video works and usually works better. Workcloud Walk captures video notes as well as photos, and a slow walk down an aisle carries far more of the store than four framed stills. RapidEye reads video walkthroughs, photo sets and 3D scans, and we set up whichever your teams already capture.
